Narrative
Walloon, Hugenot, sailed on "Anne", 1623. The marriage record states that Hester Mahieu was from Canterbury , England, but not born there. Her parents may not have moved there until after her birth. There was a large Walloon Church in Canterbury. Edward Winslow wrote of her in Hyporcrisie Unmasked, (London 1646) , p. 960 "Also the wife of Francis Cooke being a Walloone holds Communion with the church at Plymouth as she came form the French, to this day, by vertue of Communion of Churches."
