Town fence viewer,Selectman, Signed petition for formation of "Chauncy Village" Served with bro. Thomas at\ Samuel Forbush' Garrison in 1669, on property from father in law, formed Forbush tavern c1699, remained in the Forbush family for 6 generations. Burned in l973 during restorations. Capt. Samuel Forbush died in 1766; 'probably'. However, Capt. Samuel's death is not found in the vital records of Marlborough or Westborough. Moreover, the 1766 date is apparently just an upper bound based on the fact that his presumed son Lt. Samuel was known as 'Samuel Sr' in Westborough by 1767. Of course, if Capt. Samuel were living elsewhere, his son could be known as 'Samuel Sr' anyhow. Thus, this upper bound is not entirely reliable.3
